round robin photo challenge

Teena, author of the blog, "It's all about me!" has chosen "Friendship" for our next challenge topic. Do you have a best friend in all the world? Take their photo, and share a little about what makes them so special to you. Do you love yellow roses? The yellow rose indicates friendship, arrange some in a vase, or photograph them right from your yard, and make that your entry. Maybe your best friend is of the four pawed variety... of course you can share a picture of your favorite pet, who just also happens to be your best friend.

this is the first photo that popped in my mind when reading about the current rr challenge....my precious lil granddaughter strolling hand in hand with my sis' grandson...to me, this just screams friendship.  :)

of course, i couldn't end there....i have to mention my best friends....starting with hubby...no i didn't take this one, but it's one of my favorite pics of him...taken on our honeymoon nearly 3 years ago....

and then, it wouldn't be fair not to mention my sisters who have grieved and rejoiced with me at different periods in my life....

don't know what i'd do without my mom...she's always been there for me, offering her support, encouragement and prayers....

and last but certainly not least is my little girl...all grown up now with a child of her own...we've always been close and shared so much...she is very, very special...just ask anyone.  :)

scalzi's monday photo shoot

By The Way...Your Monday Shoot: Picture some blue, blue skies. Wide stretches of blue are the goal here. Fluffy clouds are great, too -- but try to get the skies mostly blue. Interesting stuff in the foreground is groovy, too.

here are some blue skies from the great smoky mountains.

round robin anniversary challenge...

"In honor of Round Robin's two year anniversary,  a special "Best of the Round Robin Photo Challenges" Challenge,  is a chance to play along with any past Challenge of your choice. There are dozens of topics to choose from - four dozen, to be exact - and they're all on the sidebar. Pick one that appeals to you, and get ready to give us a blast from our collective past. We're looking for new photos here, but to go with the old topics."

when reading thru past challenges...'mysterious doors' just seemed to leap out at me.  for over 2 years i've driven past an old double door set standing erect, separating a pasture and a yard.  i have always found these doors intriquing - prehaps a portal into alice's world...or the world of narnia...or maybe even some other fantastic land of make believe....

and this particular challenge also brought to mind all the wonderful doors we saw in germany 2 years ago....

this massive door was at nurenburg.....

the panels of these metal doors of forchheim told a tale of history....our wonderful german friend (in red) was happy to relate to us...if only i could remember.  :)

these ornate doors were to the music room in a salzburg castle

and this was an entranceway of a cobbled breezeway with lil shops on either side.

Scalzi's Monday photo shoot

John Scalzi's By The Way...Monday Photo Shoot:  Windy Days

Snap a picture of wind. Naturally, it's difficult to get a picture of the wind itself, being that air is generally transparent. however, it's easier to get a picture of how the wind is affecting other things: hair, flags, kites, so on and so forth.

we've been having some really windy days lately...though i haven't flown a kite in several years, these caught my eye...i loved the colors...and the shapes... against that beautiful blue sky.  this one was actually taken in san diego last summer.

be sure to check out the other entries.  :)
