i was driving home from my sister's the other morning and along the river bank in the trees and bushes were several big spider webs. the morning was wet and the sun bright. i was fascinated and had to turn around to get some pictures. the grass was overgrown and wet with dew as i walked closer to the brush and started shooting. looking down at my wet feet i discovered that there were thick webs on the ground as well. i quickly got some pix and made a hasty retreat to the car hoping there were no spiders on me... of course once in my car, i could feel them crawling on my legs. lol never did see one...sheesh...the mind is a powerful thing!! anyway...here are a couple...they look surreal, but what a perfect time of the year to post them. happy halloween everyone!

I would say that is almost a perfect web. The morning dew really does wonders when it comes to photographing them. This is the perfect time of year for these.

Aren't they beautiful?! Spiders webs are quite fascinating to me, I love to watch them being made, they're very strong ~ much stronger than steel ropes. I've heard they also use them in medicine to stop bleeding! Wonderful shots Gina, I'm glad you had your camera with you! Jeannette xx

Oh wow, these are wonderful!
I've tried spiderwebs, but somehow my point and shoot camera won't focus on them; it always tries to make the background the subject and the webs just look like haze.
You have so many great photos here, Gina. Awesome blog! I'm adding it to my list.

How eerily beautiful these images are.--Sheria
Good job. I think spider webs are beautiful. They do look pretty when they are covered all over the ground with the dew sparking on them. Helen
Look like this was set up just for halloween. It is hard to believe that this is real. Great shots. :)

I LOVE spider webs! GORGEOUS. I see many great ones, but my camera phone just doesn't cut it.
The webs are beautiful, you got good shots, they are not so easy to photograph. But spiders, ick, I would have been freaked out too!

Great pics!!! Even though I hate spiders, I respect them as long as they STAY AWAY from me. I once let my daughter have a very large one as a pet...a Rose Torantula, probably didn't spell that right, mental block or somethin...I thought I could get over my "FEAR" of spiders, by holding it...BAD idea...I actually touched it..then my daughter says"not like that MOM!" and I almost had a heart attack! She loved to walk up to me with it hanging on her face or sitting on her shoulder...Then I saw all of these red marks on her skin and asked her about it, She said "Oh, it's nothin Mom, The spider just sticks these hairs in me when it gets upset or I touch it the wrong way." I was horrified!!!!!! I tried to care for it while she was at camp. I found a huge black bug on the porch and thought it would "feed" the spider for a long time, so I dropped it in and when my daughter returned, she found a large black bug and pieces of a large spider ....You guessed it....the BUG ate the spider. Honestly I didn't know THAT could happen!!! (Not sure if she ever really forgave me)By the way, I loved your journal!
