our first snow

we got our first snow last night. as you can see it was only about an inch....mixed with some ice.  just enough to make the roads hazardous.  my route to work is mainly lil 2 lane country roads. as i don't have a good track record for driving in these conditions,  i waited a couple of hours before making that drive.   i snapped most of these enroute.  the skies were pretty drab...... but i did enjoy the scenery.  :)

You got the same thing we got I believe.  Just a dusting of snow followed briefly by sleet, and ending up in rain that washed everything away.  At least you had the chance to get some shots of it.  I was too busy getting the wife to work.  The lone tree is my favorite, but I do love the way the snow is sitting on the trees over the creek.  Nice captures.

Great pics. Especially the tree in the field and the snowy pine cones.

I love the tree shots Gina. I'm glad you got some good photos in and got to work safely too, so many people drive like lunatics on the roads in snow! Have a good weekend! Jeannette xx

Beautiful photos.  Just the right amount of snow...though I hate the ice part.
THanks for sharing.

Gorgeous photos, Gina, I love them especially the pine cones in the snow.  That's a universal image.  I was interested in what photographers influenced, too.  I would find a book of photographs and just go crazy over them, but I would forget the names of the photographers because I did not have people to talk to about them.  I do have many interests so did not pursue taking pictures but both my artist sisters took a lot of photos in connectin to their portrait sculpturing and other forms of art.   So they were alwas discussing it.  Arizona Highways has been a favorite for years for great Arizona scenery photos.   I had my favorite phoographers in there.  But I think some of the ones who went out and phoographed the early western life were really good, because they brought a world most had never seen to light.   Gerry

These photos are really nice, Gina!  The photos are quite brilliant despite the clouds.....sometimes I take my best shots on days which are a little overcast..:)
