the letter j

it's time for martha's a to z photo challenge featuring the letter 'j'.

japanese rose ("a hardy shrub") from the huntsville botanical gardens.  this 'tomato' look alike actually follows the beautiful, scented flower and can be used to make jelly.

that was a great picture of the June bug!!! little confused though, first picture looks like tomatoes, is a Japanese rose a tomato???

It almost looks like your June Bug is coming out of a grape the way the colors are on his back.  I'm glad you told me that those were Japanese Roses, otherwise I would have wondered how a tomato fit the "j" theme.

The top one looks like tomatoes with tenacles coming out the bottom LOL. Very pretty. The June bug is taking on the frosted colors of the grapes. All very pretty. Helen

Never heard of the Japanese Rose...how cool!
As for the beetle....ick....they sneak into my hair and hang out with me sometimes...lol.

I wondered what the heck was wrong with those tomatoes until I read your words.  That is interesting!

I've never heard of a Japanese rose, so I am totally intrigued by the plant and the picture is of course, lovely. Great shot of the June Bug, but I confess that they have always given me the creeps!--Sheria
