old water tower

we stopped at some quaint little south colorado town for lunch one afternoon.  this old water tower for old steam train engines caught our eye.  i snapped a few pix of it, but this one was my favorite.

I lived in Arvada, CO about 6 years ago and my daughter lives in Ft. Collins, CO.  Very beautiful, indeed!  I might have been more inclined to stay but the high altitude and dry air raised heck with my sinuses and breathing, plus I was aching from arthritis and injuries-- so I moved  back to my home in lush , green Wisconsin.

Nice pix!

This is quite good.  You have a wonderful leading line in the right side of the shot, and it leads you directly to the subject.  This is a well thought out and composed shot!

I'm sort of fascinated with water towers, especially old ones ... but go figure, I'm a hydrologist. Water towers, and the need for them, is linked to the underground supply source of the water, on how rapidly they can withdrawal it, and how to get pressure in the lines to distribute it.
