tiny things

Round Robin Challenge: Tiny Things

the first idea was to photograph tiny inanimate things, but karen reconsidered and now says anything tiny can be used for this challenge.  this was great news for me, as i would rather shoot insects and wildlife...anything involving nature...as stills....so from my backyard...tiny insects and flowers....

and now from my butterfly safari at the huntsville botanical gardens ....

those small yellow things are butterfly eggs...and the butterfly you see here is depositing more eggs.  notice her abdomen curled into the plant.

a monarch to be....

and to show that 'tiny' can be a matter of perspective....

Wonderful entry for RR.  I was unable to view the image under the tiny white flowers, but I can see the rest!  They are all lovely...I love the tiny fly in flight!  Very cool~

Great job with your tiny captures.  I don't think I could even pick those insects out, much less be able to photograph them as well.  Wonderful entry!

Oh, these are great! And I'm just amazed by that first shot, and also by the butterfly eggs. Love the last one, though; I was wondering whether anyone would pick up on the concept for something being *relatively* tiny. Well done! - Karen

Very pretty Gina. You had some great subjects to shoot. I tried to get a pretty white butterfly pic yesterday but it wouldn't sit still for me. Helen

Absolutely beautiful!  My daughter freelances as a photographer....her day job is in the legal profession.  She would understand your thoughts exactly on taking that perfect shot.

Great job!

Hi Gina :)

I am sorry you didn't get marked as "Posted" last night. I love your collection here, the first one is really amazing, and that GIANT bunny made me laugh, it just keeps going and going, and going. :)

Always, Carly

These are amazing! I can't believe you've caught that fly in flight so clearly in the first shot there. And the butterfly laying eggs in the crook of that tendril ... pure magic.

I love close-up work, but I have no luck at all with moving, live subjects so far. Your shots are an inspiration.

My goodness, woman, you have got to have a show at a gallery! Every week you post all of these astonishing photographs. I don't know which is my favorite out of this set, although I am really partial to butterflies but the tiny insects on the leaves are also exquisite--wonderful color, perspective, and composition.--Sheria
